Bandhavgarh, located in Madhya Pradesh, is a city known for its rich wildlife and historical heritage. The name "Bandhavgarh" is believed to have been given by Lord Rama to his brother Lakshmana, and it literally means "Brother’s Fort."
The Bandhavgarh National Park is especially famous for its population of Royal Bengal Tigers. It is also historically significant as the place where India’s first white tiger, named Mohan, was discovered.
In addition to tigers, the park is home to a wide range of wildlife including leopards, various deer species, and a diverse array of birds. During the royal era, the park served as a hunting ground for the Maharajas of Rewa.
